How To Make A Message In A Bottle For The Beach
Take off the label of the wine bottle using a knife, peel off the label by making a circular motion around the label. Make sure that you don’t cut yourself while doing this, although if you do use Band-Aid to cover the cut.
Clean the bottle using a towel, clean out all of the sticky label residues on the side of the wine bottle.
Cut a square of butter. Make sure that the butter is cold and hard, then use a sharp knife to cut out a square of butter. The square should be about an inch in length.
Wrap the butter in a paper towel. Put the square of butter into the center of a paper towel; it is important to make sure that there are no openings in this paper barrier or else the moisture from within will come out and moisten your message.
Push the wrapped butter deep into the core of the wine bottle. Push the butter down following the contour of the inside of the wine bottle.
You can use a stick to push it in, or you can use your hand if you don’t mind getting your hands dirty and smelling like butter for a while.
Fill up one-quarter of your bottle with hot water; then drop a tealight candle into the bottle. Fill up one-quarter of your wine bottle with hot water, and gently place a tealight candle inside.
Set aside for an hour or two so the message in the bottle can be revealed in its full glory afterward. You can set it aside for as long as you want, but make sure that the candle has been lit for at least two hours.
Extinguish the tealight candle and pour out the water from inside of your very own message in a bottle for the beach.
Peel off the paper towel slowly, then prepare to read your message.

History Of the Message In A Bottle
The message in a bottle is an old tradition that has been around for centuries. The classic story of someone finding a message in a bottle and then delivering it to the person it is meant for, resonates with people who feel isolated, stuck or lonely.
However, bottles are often seen as waste products, so this practice has come under fire. It is important to remember the romanticism of this tradition and try to be environmentally friendly when disposing of bottles by recycling or reusing them.
Message in a bottle is also known as the “bottle letter.” These are sent when someone is out of contact with the person they want to send the message to. It is often used by sailors who are at sea, or disabled people that cannot move, to communicate with their loved ones, perhaps only in a metaphorical way. The message usually contains information that could be helpful to them or information about the sender’s location and well-being.
The first known use of a message in a bottle was by Jules Verne in his novel “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea” where he used it to show how life on board an American frigate might be for two Englishmen captured by pirates.
A message in a bottle can be a really unique and touching gift for someone you love. It is not hard to put together and has a lot of creative potential.

Hi, I’m Ryan Nelson! I live in the Hamptons, out on Long Island, near Ponquogue Beach. The beach is a place where I can find peace and serenity. It’s a place where I can sit and clear my head. The waves crashing on the shore somehow helps me to relax, while also reminding me that I am far from the stressors of daily life.
