I love visiting warm beaches in the  California summer because of the feeling of a cool breeze and a light salty mist on my skin.

The warmth of the sun on my face is what I cherish most about these trips to the beach. I also love looking at all the happy faces around me, playing in the water, building sandcastles, and feeling free from stress.

I find it really relaxing to be surrounded by nature while taking a walk on a warm beach. In fact, it’s one of my favorite things to do during summer break or even just when I need some time off from work.

It’s worth noting that this practice has many benefits and is indeed healthy for you and you can’t go wrong with this type of lifestyle change!

California is known for its sand and surf. There are some beautiful beaches where the temperature is always right and the conditions are always dry. Some of these beaches are warm in both the summer and the winter months.

These beaches have everything that a person can want. They have the warm sand to lay in and relax. They also have warm water so that a person can jump right in without a problem.

Even with the higher temperatures of the water it still is refreshing to go for a swim. These are some of the best beaches in the state for those that want a warm day.

These are the nine warmest beaches in the state of California.

#1. Long Beach

Long Beach

This beach is one of the hottest in the state. From July to September the beach is the best in the area. Even during the rest of the year, this is still a very warm beach. The average temperature for the year is around 80 degrees.

During the peak seasons, the temperature is able to go to 84 or above. Long Beach has some of the highest daily average temperatures so it is popular with those that are looking for a warm day at the beach.

For those that want higher temperatures especially in the off-season, this is the beach to go to. This is one of the hottest beaches during the winter months as well.

If a person is looking for a warm beach any time of the year, then Long Beach is the place to be. This is one of the most popular beaches in the state due to being warm all year.

#2. Newport Beach

Newport Beach

This is not only a beautiful beach, it is a really warm beach, all year round, basically. This has some of the warmest ocean waters on the west coast. The temperature of the Pacific Ocean is around 70 degrees. From the months of July to September the water temperature averages 69 degrees.

It only drops a degree and averages 68 to the end of October. This beach gets shelter from the Balboa Peninsula allowing the water and the beach to stay warm during the entire year. This is another one of the warmest beaches in the state and is great for those that want to swim in warm bath-like water.

This keeps people coming back. This is a great vacation spot for those that live out of state or from the northern part of this state.

#3. Avila Beach

Avila Beach

This is a beach in the southern part of the state and has a south-facing shore allowing it to be warm even during the winter months. The average water temperature of the water is around 67 degrees in December and January.

While the rest of the country is freezing people that live near this beach can go for a swim. The best time to go to this beach is during the month of September.

That is when the water temperatures are said to be the highest in the state. This water is also clear blue so it is great for those that want to relax and enjoy the day.

#4. Laguna Beach

This is another great beach to enjoy during the warmer and cooler months. This beach is hot during the summer and during the winter months, it is still warm. The temperature in the winter of the water will also be around 67 degrees at this beach.

This will allow a person to enjoy the beach and they can get in the water just about any time of the year.

#5. Mission Beach

This is one of the many beaches that are located in San Diego. The temperature here is above average and the water temperature is above average too.

The beach temperature here goes well above 70 and this allows for some warm days at the beach.

West Beach

This beach is found in Santa Barbara which is known for the high temperatures and the warm water. The average water temperature here is also in the high 60s with an average of 68 degrees.

During the summer months between the weather and the water temperature, this makes for a fun and warm day at the beach.

This beach is located in the southern part of the state and it has warm water most of the year. The water temperate averages around 69 degrees. Due to the location in the southern part of the state, this beach is much warmer than other beaches.

It is at least 10 degrees warmer than the beaches that are found in the northern part of this state.

The name says it all for this beach. Oceanside is a beach that is also located in the southern area of California. This will allow the water to be warm most of the year.

While the peak temperature is in August this is still a pleasantly warm beach. The average temperature of the water is around 68 degrees and this is during the off-season.

#9. La Jolla

This warm beach has pretty above-average temperatures all year round. Water temperatures during the peak summer months get into the 70s at this beach.

During the off-seasons, the water temperature still averages around 68 degrees here. Just like most of California beaches the warmest time to go is August and September that has some of the hottest beach temperatures around.

These are some of the warmest beaches in the state of California. This state is known for above-average temperatures especially in the Southern part of the state. Beaches are staples to those growing up in California.
